About

Hillside Hermitage was first built in the hills of central Sri Lanka, and later relocated to the mountain forests of Slovenia. It is a registered religious non-profit organization in Europe that supports a group of solitary monastics following the Early Buddhist Suttas and Nyanamoli Thero’s teachings. They live independently, apart from mainstream traditions.

The hermitage was founded by Nyanamoli Thero, who received his Upasampada ordination in the Thai Theravada Tradition and has been living the monastic life since 2005.

The following pages contain the teachings of Nyanamoli Thero and his disciples, namely the Dhamma talks, writings and YouTube videos on meditation and various practical aspects of the Buddha’s Teaching.
