Hillside Hermitage Association is a registered religious non-profit organization that supports a group of solitary monastics and hermitages following the Early Buddhist Suttas and Nyanamoli Thero’s teachings. They live independently, apart from mainstream traditions, across Europe and Asia.
The current hermitages under the association are Hillside Hermitage Slovenija and Samanadipa (registered under Samanadipa religious organization in Slovenia – www.samanadipa.org), Vihara Pod Lasem in Poland (registered under “Bodhi Tree Foundation” Poland – www.fundacjadrzewobodhi.pl/en) and Hillside Hermitage Sri Lanka.
The original hermitage and association were founded by Nyanamoli Thero, who received his Upasampada ordination in the Thai Theravada Tradition and has been living the monastic life since 2005.
